Cricket Control

Are New York crickets keeping you up at night? Not all crickets chirp, but for some people, “Jiminy Cricket” is an unwanted house guest. If you suspect crickets have invaded your home, contact New York’s preferred exterminator team, The Bug Stops Here, and have us use our pest control services to keep crickets at bay.
There are several cricket species, including cave crickets, camel crickets, and house crickets. Some have wings, which allow them to chirp throughout the night, and some don’t. Color varies by species, ranging from light tan to brown, often having some segments with dark brown bands.
Crickets are often found in cool, damp, dark habitats. Some are found in caves, under stones, inside logs, and in other places with cool, damp surroundings and suitable amounts of organic matter which they use for food. In urban settings, crickets will invade buildings in autumn, seeking shelter from the harsh winter weather. They tend to hang out in the following places, and they usually do not cause damage to the building:
- Basements
- Crawl Spaces
- Kitchens
- Behind Appliances
- Fireplaces
- Behind Baseboards
- Cracks
- Crevices
- Wall Voids
If you hear “singing” crickets and their chirps disrupt your sleep, perhaps it is time to call The Bug Stops Here for a free estimate. Serving all of New York City, our pest control team of exterminators will remove the crickets and prevent more crickets from invading your home.
